May 22, 2002: William Grimes awards three stars to Fiamma Osteria, White's big New York debut.

October 31, 2007: Shortly after White's partnership with Chris Cannon, Frank Bruni awards three stars to Alto and two to L'Impero.

October 1, 2008: Frank Bruni gives three stars to Convivio, White and Cannon's re-do of L'Impero. Choice line: "Sounds like something of a mini-empire. Let’s hope it’s built on cooking as soulful and unpretentious as Convivio’s."

October 20, 2009: Sam Sifton Gives three stars to Marea: "Marea is an ambitious restaurant, more so than any Mr. Cannon and Mr. White have opened."

November 30, 2010: Sam Sifton is not terribly impressed by White and Cannon's last official project together, Osteria Morini. He gives the restaurant just one star.

February 22, 2011: Shortly after Cannon and White's monster break-up, Sam Sifton gives Ai Fiori three stars, noting: "There may be prettier restaurants in the world of Michael White. But the cooking is at its very top here at the Setai."

August 7, 2012: Pete "The Punisher" Wells slams White's casual pizzeria, Nicoletta, giving it zero stars. After offering a brief rundown of his resume, Wells writes: "After a run like that, it must have been tempting to think that great pizza would materialize on command. So far, it hasn’t worked out that way."
