Longtime readers of Eater may recall the sad story of comic book-themed Williamsburg fast food restaurant Action Burger. The hamburger stand — which had comic book posters and action figures all over the walls — was open for a few months back in 2008, then shuttered right after Comicon.
But now, a tipster sends in a picture of a sign in the former Double Roses space on Graham Avenue announcing Action Burger's triumphant return. The new incarnation of the restaurant will share a storefront with a comic book store called BIO-Sapien Comics & BIAlien Sci-Fi novels. From the restaurant's Facebook page:
Action Burger restaurants has teamed up with BIO-Sapien Comics & BIAlien Sci-Fi novels. Opening mid September 2012. Action Burger will be a place to eat, talk about/debate comics or super heroes, play video games & watch super hero movies.Sounds like a plan. Maybe they'll lay off the liquid smoke this time.
