The current incarnation of Delmonico's opened all the way back in 1837, making this the restaurant's 175th anniversary. The living legend, whose roots go as far back as 1827, is celebrating this milestone by expanding to Midtown, with a new location due to open sometime this Fall. Details are scant in terms of location and actual opening date, but a rep tells Eater that executive chef Billy Oliva and managing partner Dennis Turcinovic are planning a "chic transformation" of the Delmonico's formula, meaning this won't be just a carbon copy of the downtown old-timer.
