Welcome to our photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographer Daniel Krieger visits some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, Veselka.[Krieger, 08/23/12]
The original, Second Avenue location of Veselka is one of New York's most beloved diners. In the middle of the night, the Ukrainian restaurant is filled with bar hoppers, but in the afternoon, the clientele is a mix of students and longtime East Village residents. Take a look at the scene in the dining room — and down in the pierogi kitchen — on a recent Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
