4) Lower East Side: The owners of Stanton Pizza are opening a new pizza shop at 181 East Broadway. It should open in mid-September. [TLD]
5) Williamsburg: Signage is up for Tiny Empire, a cold-pressed juice bar coming to 142 N. Sixth St. in Williamsburg. [Zagat]
6) Lower East Side: The new bar at 21 Essex St. has a name: Beverly's. Run by former waitstaff from the bygone Sweet Paradise (where Lead Belly will be), Beverly's was granted a full liquor license at Monday's CB 3 meeting. [Bowery Boogie]

8) Park Slope: A new Subway is taking over the former Leaf & Bean space, which is only noteworthy because the 1930s-era facade should be protected from Subway's corporate blandness by Landmark laws. [HPS]
9) Midtown: Calling itself "the New York Deli of Desserts," Smush is due to open soon on 40th between Fifth and Sixth avenues, slinging a wide selection of ice cream sandwiches. [ML]
