Osaka-born sushi chef Sho Boo opened a new sushi restaurant in the East Village called Bugs. After coming to New York 11 years ago, Boo has spent time in the kitchens at Midtown's Sushi Yasuda and Jewel Bako in the East Village.
There's only 15 seats in the restaurant, and Boo will be doing it all back in the kitchen, serving up Japanese small plates. And about that name: Boo tells the Local EV, "Bugs tend to gather, especially around a bright light and this restaurant is the bright light that everyone would gather around."
