Ligaya Mishan visits the East Village's The Toucan and the Lion for her Hungry City review this week. Mishan files a mostly glowing report, though she notices a few missteps here and there: "Eating at the Toucan and the Lion, is like reading an ambitious first novel: there are grand ideas, even the occasional flash of brilliance, but too many subplots that go nowhere."
