It looks like H & H Bagels isn't reopening after all. News broke last month that Long Island bagel chain owner Randy Narod was teaming up with former H & H owner Helmer Toro, but that quickly looked in doubt as Toro and Narod fought over the H & H trademark. Now, the Wall Street Journal reports that after Toro sent Narod a cease-and-desist letter, Narod has withdrawn his application with the US Patent and Trademark office and will not open a store "with any name similar" to that of the now-defunct icon.
So no H & H Bagels anytime soon, though Toro does tell the Journal that he's looking into reviving the chain at some point.
