Deathwatch Reprieves: Apiary, Picholine, Jack Lamb Trio

New, 70 comments

In preparation for the beginning of Shitshow Week 2012 on Monday, it's time to make some room on the Deathwatch list and hand out some long overdue reprieves. Currently on the list: Neely's Barbecue Parlor, Co-Op Food & Drink, Picholine, Dans Le Noir, SD26, Apiary, At Vermilion, Degustation, Jack's Oyster Bar, Jewel Bako, and Bigoli.

Apiary, one of Eater's most controversial Deathwatches, is officially off the list for time served, and because it's proven to be a neighborhood staple for many East Villagers. Picholine gets a full reprieve, because of its pricey redesign — Terrance would've just closed the place if it was really on its last leg. The three Jack Lamb restaurants (Degustation, Jack's Oyster Bar, and Jewel Bako) are also getting de-listed because their vital signs look good, and they've been on the list for almost five years. That is a Deathwatch record that may never be eclipsed.

So that leaves Co-Op Food & Drink, SD26, At Vermilion, Bigoli, Dans Le Noir, and Neely's in the Deathwatch compound. Stay tuned for next week when we bulk up this list a bit. And always feel encouraged to send Deathwatch nominations to the tipline.
