Shaun Hergatt Rumored to Have Left SHO Early

Two weeks ago, news broke that acclaimed chef Shaun Hergatt had decided to split with his partners at SHO Shaun Hergatt in the Financial District. He plans to open a new restaurant with the same name in a different neighborhood. The official word was that Hergatt would stay on till the end of July, but now Eater hears that Hergatt departed the restaurant at the end of last week.

A trusted tipster tells Eater that the restaurant had a completely new menu on Friday night, and that there was no new chef in the kitchen and no wines by the bottle offered. A quick check of the restaurant's site shows that they are no longer offering the dinner prix fixe, just the two-course and three-course lunch menus. Also, apparently members of the staff were walking off the floor on Friday night.
