In the winter, the plaza in front of The Standard Hotel houses an ice skating rink. In the fall, it's an outdoor lounge. But from now through September 30, it's a Spanish cafe serving food from Tertulia's Seamus Mullen. The Standard Plaza, as it's called, opened a week and a half ago with an outdoor kitchen and a menu of small and large plates.
Dishes include pan iberico, grilled swordfish with summer squash, lamb "ham steak," and a dry-aged porterhouse for two with potatoes and salsa verde. The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
