Is this the end of Midtown's La Petite Maison? Right now, the restaurant's OpenTable page is down, and nobody's picking up the phone. Also, earlier this week, mysterious nightlife Twitter account @NYNightlife tweeted: "La Petite Maison has (quietly) closed down, coincidentally around the same time Bagatelle reopened."
The team behind Bagatelle opened the pricey French import in January of 2011 with Alain Allegretti as a consulting chef. The restaurant got mostly tepid reviews, although Sam Sifton liked La Petite Maison enough to give it a single star. Allegretti's new solo project La Promenade Des Anglais is a total hit, and as @NYNightlife notes, the owners of La Petite just revived their party brunch spot Bagatelle a few weeks ago. Eater has reached out to the restaurant, but there's still no word yet on whether it will return.
