Fantastic news for baguette fans: a branch of famed Parisian bakery Maison Kayser is opening on the Upper East Side next month. The original location has a cult following, and the shop frequently lands on lists about the best bakeries in Paris. Proprietor Eric Kayser has signed the lease at 1294 Third Ave. (formerly home to Ajune, which is relocating). An employee at the shop tells Eater that the bakery should open in about two weeks. Although Kayser has opened satellite shops in several countries (his nickname is "the ambassador of French bread to the world"), this will be his first location in the United States.
