Great news for bagel lovers: a new incarnation of H & H Bagels will open in the Financial District this fall. The new store at 125 Fulton Street will have the same name and the same recipes but will be run by Randy Narod, the owner a small bagel chain in Long Island called Island Bagel Cafe.
The last of the original H & H shops closed in January after 40 years in business. Narod has brought on former owner Helmer Toro as a consultant in the new project. Although H & H fans can expect the same bagels they once loved, the new location will also offer sandwiches, panini, salads, and soups.
UPDATE: According to City Room, Narod and Toro are "still in negotiations." So, the partnership is not an entirely done deal yet.
