Mario Batali has teamed up with the New York Botanical Garden to do four family-style dinners this summer. Each of the three-course family dinners will be presented by one of Batali's chefs and will use vegetables and herbs that have been harvested in the Edible Garden section of the Botanical Gardens. The first dinner will be on Sunday, July 15 with Casa Mono chef Anthony Sasso and Tarry Lodge's Andy Nusser.
The dinners are part of a larger NYBG program known as Mario Batali's Kitchen Gardens, a space dedicated to teaching kids and adults hands-on gardening and cooking skills. Each of Batali's restaurants have patches of dirt where herbs and vegetables featured on their menus can be found.
