And the award for best restaurant name of 2012 goes to Rocket Pig, the Trestle on Tenth spinoff opening next Tuesday in Chelsea. The signature dish at chef Ralf Kuettel's new restaurant is a $14 sandwich made with smoked pork, onion jam, pickles, and hot sauce. The menu also includes oysters, charcuterie, cheeses, snacks, and sides.
Kuettel served a version of this pork sandwich at this year's Cochon 555, and it was easily one of the most talked about dishes of the event. Joe Campanale got a taste earlier today, and he's already a big Rocket Pig fan. And, in case you're wondering, the restaurant's logo is indeed a fat pig sitting on a rocket, duh.
