1) Upper East Side: Richard Sandoval’s Mexican restaurant Maya has reopened after renovations. The adjacent storefront also opened yesterday as a new tequila bar and lounge called Tequileria Maya. 3) Chelsea: The new Southeast Asian-Chinese Chop Shop brings another restaurant from Danny Emerman and Mah Chan (Bottino) to the West Side, notes the New York Times. 4) East Village: A Pudgie's Famous Chicken, Arthur Treacher's, and Nathan's combination restaurant is now open on First Avenue, reports EV Grieve. Status: Certified Open; 57 First Avenue.
5) Inwood: A new bakery and coffee shop Darling Coffee is now open in Inwood, serving locally roasted drip and espresso coffees from Brooklyn organic roaster Blue Bottle Coffee and Queens-based Dallis Bros, says DNAinfo. Along with coffee, the space offers savory and sweet pastries, galettes, scones, baguette sandwiches, Spanish-style tortillas, and frittatas. Status: Certified Open; 4961 Broadway.
