The annual Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Championship will be held at 3 p.m. this year rather than noon because of Wimbledon and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, reports the Brooklyn Paper. Major League Eating president George Shea was not happy that ESPN had decided to give preference to the tennis match and Queen Elizabeth II's 60 years on the throne saying, "Tennis is not as respected and elegant a sport as competitive eating.” [BP]
