Chef Franklin Becker Splits With EMM Group

Club/restaurant shocker: EMM Group's corporate executive chef Franklin Becker has left the company. Becker oversaw the kitchens at Catch, Abe & Arthur's, and Lexington Brass, all of which serve hundreds and hundreds of customers each night. Becker tells Zagat: "We are going off into two separate directions and I wish them luck."

He left the group over the weekend, and apparently he's now looking for a place of his own. EMM has not named a replacement, but a rep notes: "We thank Franklin Becker for his hard work over the last three years and know his next venture will be nothing short of successful." For what it's worth, Becker's food was always much better than most club/restaurant fare, and the man also has a great reputation within the industry.
