Human Lava Lamp Guy Fieri Starts Work on NYC Project

New, 7 comments

America's favorite culinary Furby Guy Fieiri is in NYC right now, prepping the opening of his Times Square theme restaurant. The celeb chef still hasn't revealed very much about the project — Eater hears rumors of a 12 seat chef's counter in the basement — but today he tells the Post about some of his favorite NYC foods.

He likes the pappardelle at John's of 12th Street, the Sinatra special at Defonte's, and the Arroz con pollo at Rincon Criollo in Corona, Queens. Señor Fieri also drops this piece of info:

I own 120 pairs of sunglasses. I wear them all the time, but I’m not a sunglass cord kind of person. I could fold them in my shirt, but if I go to stir something in the kitchen, then whoop, where did they go? And I don’t want to wear them on top of my hair — then they get [hair] wax on them — so one day I just put them on the back of my head.
So, when he's stirring the food at Guy's American Kitchen and Bar, just know that his sunglasses will be stored safely behind his gel-slathered head. The restaurant is slated to open in September.
