The Meatballers Sign Lease on Bushwick Space

And the Meatball Shop's world domination plan enters phase two: the Observer learns that Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow just signed the lease on a 11,500-square-foot space at 192 Seigel Street in Bushwick, just a few blocks away from Roberta's. A press release about the deal notes that the move, "represents an expansion for the company, which plans to use 192 Seigel Street for a central cooking location and test kitchen."

No word yet on whether they plan to open up part of the space as a dining room, or if they'll just use it as a commissary. But they'd be fools not to have some sort of restaurant, if only to catch some of the overflow from Roberta's. Holzman and Chernow already have Metaball Shops in Williamsburg, the West Village, and on the Lower East Side. Later this year, they'll open a fourth location in Chelsea.
