WILLIAMSBURG — Bellwether, the newish restaurant in the old Royal Oak space, recently hired some new FOH and BOH personnel. Dan Ross-Leutwyler, formerly of Fatty 'Cue, is the new executive chef. Justin Lane Briggs, who also worked at Fatty 'Cue, is now the beverage director. This Friday, the restaurant will be serving a special five-course family style dinner with a raw bar cocktail hour beforehand, for $49 per person. [EaterWire]
BOOK CLUB — Eater National has a peek at Family Table, the new book from Michael Romano and Karen Stabiner, which features staff meal recipes from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group restaurants (pre-order on Amazon). The book, which doesn't come out till April 13, features recipes from chefs Nick Anderer and Jean Paul Bourgeois of Maialino, as well as a Gramercy Tavern recipe. [Eater National]
