There are big changes coming to Hotel Griffou in Greenwich Village. Following a rumor from the chatty NY Nightlife Twitter account that the concept was about to change, Eater checked in with Griffou owner Johnny Swet who confirmed the hunch. Swet tells Eater, "the owners of Griffou, Larry Poston, Johnny Swet and their business partner have moved forward and no longer will be involved with Griffou. The new group which has acquired Griffou would like to remain anonymous for now. We are 100 percent supportive and wish them well."
Swet did add that he and Poston were busy at work on their next project and would be ready to announce something by the end of the summer. Griffou had seen its share of chef shuffles and menu changes during its short stint, so this doesn't come as a complete shock. As soon as more information surfaces about the new owners, we'll be sure to let you know.
