Carmellini Confirms Chinatown Brasserie Space Takeover

New, 12 comments

Earlier this month, Eater floated the rumor that 2011's golden boy Andrew Carmellini was planning a new French restaurant in the Chinatown Brasserie space. And now the chef tells Flo Fab that the project is officially in the works. This news comes just hours after the Chinatown Brasserie partners announced that the restaurant will move to a new location after today.

Carmellini's partners from The Dutch, Luke Ostrom and Josh Pickard, will join him on this project. Pickard, who also owns Chinatown Brasserie, tells the Times: "I think we all agree we would rather not speak about it too much as we are still in development." A rep notes that this will not be a "brasserie-style place." With any luck, this new project should open by the end of the year.
