Last year, restaurateur Alan Philips opened Co-Op Food & Drink and Victor & Spoils in the Hotel on Rivington. One has walls made of money, and the other has a big Poloroid of Moby hanging above the dining room. Now Eater learns that Philips has sold his interest in those restaurants and he's working with the Morgans Hotel Group.
Philips will be developing new restaurants for the group, which has hotels in NYC, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London. Although Morgans has not yet announced what these projects will be, Eater hears that Philips might be planning a revamp of part of the Imperial No. 9 space that will involve rotating pop-ups. Before opening the restaurants at the Hotel on Rivington, the restaurateur hosted a few notable pop-ups, including one with Seamus Mullen, and another with that kid Greg Grossman.
