Mikey's Burger on Third Avenue Now Closed

New, 17 comments

Sad news for fans of corned beef-topped hamburgers: the Gramercy location of Michael Bao Huynh's Mikey's Burger closed sometime last week. The phone line is disconnected and it looks like the space is being gutted.

As you may recall, this space once housed another Michael Bao restaurant called Baorrito (RIP). Eater has reached out the Baomeister, but there's still no word yet on what will happen to the space. But expect some sort of Bao concept (or Baocept) to move in here — maybe he'll do that fried chicken restaurant with the Playboy bunny. That idea's just too good to pass up.
UPDATE: Michael Huynh tells Eater that he sold Mikey's Burger to another restaurateur earlier this year.
