New York City is home to a lot of restaurants, and among them are hidden gems some New Yorkers just aren't unearthing. To help guide us to these potential discoveries, we've enlisted some of our city's many food luminaries to share with us their under the radar recommendations for Dining Confidential.
Justin Bogle, the Executive Chef of GILT and The Palace Gate has some strong feelings for a taco truck in Astoria. Here's what he has to say:
"El Rey Del Taco seems to be one of those places that I just can’t get enough of. I haven't lived in Queens for almost three years now but I still find myself going back just for this taco truck. I am a huge fan of Mexican food so when I moved to NY from Philly and found this truck around the corner from my apartment in Queens I fell in love. They park on 30th Ave near 33rd Street in Astoria. I would literally eat there on my way home four to five nights a week. I have tried everything on the menu from the tacos al pastor, which are my favorite, to the lengua (beef tongue) which runs a close second. It is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area."
