Devi Quietly Reopens Without Chef Suvir Saran

When Flatiron Indian favorite Devi closed last month, a note on their site announced that the restaurant would reopen as a branch of sister restaurant Baluchi's. Now it seems there's been a change of plans.

This week, the space reopened as...Devi. The menu's is the same, but the decor has been refreshed. Zagat learns that Dheeraj Tomar, who worked in the kitchen before, has replaced chef and original partner Suvir Saran. For those keeping track at home, this is the second time Devi mysteriously closed for spell, then reopened a few weeks later.
