The owners of Gold Coast Deli in Bay Ridge announce that the restaurant will close after service today. When the deli opened just a little under a year ago, the owners remarked that it would be "a New York deli styled after the Katz and Carnegie delis of Manhattan," but the dining room looked exactly like Schiller's or The Smith.
No word yet on why the restaurant closed, or what will take its place. The owners also operate Apartment 138 in Boerum Hill, Matchless in Greenpoint, and Cebu Bar & Bistro in Bay Ridge. Later this year, they will also open that massive beer garden in Park Slope. A message on the restaurant's site reads: "It's been our pleasure serving you the past year! Warm wishes, the GOLD COAST FAMILY"
