What: Hotel Chantelle is kicking off brunch today in their outdoor roof space. Dandy Wellington will perform from 12:30 p.m. - 4 p.m., and after that, DJs will spin into the evening. The menu features several crepes and salads. 2) Sunday Night Pasta Dinner at Maialino
When: Starts this Sunday
Where: Maialino, 2 Lexington Ave.
What: Maialino is now offering a $55 five-course pasta tasting on Sunday night. Check out a sample menu here (PDF).
3) The Manhattan Cocktail Classic
When: Friday, May 11 through Tuesday, May 15
Where: Citywide
What: The Manhattan Cocktail Classic is off and running. The five-day-festival spans the five boroughs and showcases the who's who of bartenders and their creations. Many of the events are already sold out, but visit the site for remaining availability and tickets.
4) Mother's Day with Daniel Boulud
When: Sunday, May 13
Where: DBGB Kitchen & Bar, Boulud Sud, Bar Boulud, and Café Boulud.
What: Daniel Boulud honors mom this Sunday with special prix fixe brunch menus at DBGB Kitchen & Bar, Boulud Sud, Bar Boulud, and Café Boulud. The three-course meals range in price ––$27 at DBGB is the most affordable, while the $85 option at the Upper East Side Café is the most expensive.
5) Brooklyn Food Conference
When: Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Where: Brooklyn Technical High School: 29 Fort Greene Place, Brooklyn
What: At this free, all day event, food activists, local farmers, academics, restaurateurs, health advocates, and all those interested in food justice will gather to discuss the global food economy and its impact on our lives. Visit the site for more details.
