Even More Pizza Recs From Lure Fishbar's Josh Capon

At the beginning of Pizza Week, Eater asked Lure Fishbar's chef Josh Capon for a short list of his favorite pizzerias. He offered three restaurants: Lombardi's, Artichoke, and Adrienne's. But the chef has many, many more pizza recommendations, and he begged the Eater editors for a chance to share them with the world. Take it away Josh:

I have always been a fan of the CLAM PIE at Lombardi's on Spring Street, but unfortunately they started using canned clams, and way too many of them. Don't get me wrong, the sausage meatball pie at Lombardi's is still one of the best in NYC but as far as a GREAT clam pie is concerned, head over to ABC Kitchen for Dan Kluger's whole wheat pizza with clams, mint, and fresh chiles. There is a new sheriff in town! And yes, I did say whole wheat and it's delicious!!

I also have to give a shout out to Brooklyn Bowl for the best French bread pizza EVER! Stouffer's might have had the vision but the boys at Blue Ribbon perfected it! It's all about the bread when it comes to Blue Ribbon and the San Gennaro with crumbled sausage, peppers, and onions is a 10! We usually get two every time because it's such a HIT! Follow that up with a little Questlove's BOWLTRAIN and you got a hell of a Thursday night dance party!!

On another note...if you haven't been to Pulino's in quite some time, I suggest you give it another shot. The pizzas are far superior than when they first started, and I think it just took them some time to find their groove.

And of course, Jim Lahey's pies at Co. They might might not always be "round," but they are always absolutely delicious! Jim sources some of the best ingredients he can find and makes some very unique pies. His meatballs are terrific, as well.

Let's face it, everyone LOVES PIZZA!
