Denton Brothers Split; Jason Now Owns 'Ino Empire

New, 4 comments

Today Gael Greene reports that Jason Denton recently bought out his brother and business partner Joe for sole ownership of the six restaurant empire that includes 'Ino, Inoteca, Corsino, Betto, and Indie Food & Wine. The two brothers have been working together since 1998, when they opened 'Ino in the West Village.

Joe plans to move to Australia with his wife and son, where he will presumably open another restaurant. Jason tells Gael, "I bought him out...I love him to death. His family is already over there. I'm really excited for him." In an odd twist, Ms. Greene spotted Joe working as a server at King in Soho a few weeks ago, which is a restaurant that is not a part of their group.

The news certainly comes a surprise because the duo have a stellar reputation as operators, and they've been working together for so long. Jason notes: "I’m tightening things up. To stay on top of it all.”
