Cake Shop Needs Emergency Loan to Prevent Eviction

The owner of the venerable music venue Cake Shop sent an email to a bunch of people asking for an immediate loan of $10,000 in order to prevent a possible eviction. Owner Andy Bodes came right out and asked for the help:

Calling all millionaires: Cake Shop needs a month-long returnable bridge loan, due to possibly bogus fines from last year, at their deadline this Monday, or we face eviction. The amount we're looking for is 10k, to pay off these fines once and for all. We'd need it in the next 72 hours.
Although this situation seems a bit murkier than the closing of other East Village/LES stalwarts like Lakeside Lounge, losing Cake Shop would be yet another blow to the downtown indie music and bar scene.
