Spanish chef José Andrés has a number of acclaimed restaurants across the country, including minibar in D.C., and é in Las Vegas. Now Grub Street hears a rumor that the chef might be setting his sights on New York. Over the weekend, Andrés remarked, "When I do it in New York, I want it to be a big deal. I want to make sure I'm ready when I make it there."
Eater hears from a reliable source that Andrés is indeed planning a New York restaurant, and that it will be located somewhere in Brooklyn. Apparently, Andrés has already picked out a space, but the opening is still a ways off. No word yet on what the concept will be like, but expect something slightly upscale. If you hear any more about the new Andrés project, you know where to send those tips.
