Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:1) Tri-Annual Spring Clam Shuck
Where: The Brazen Head, 228 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY
When: Saturday 5p.m.–8p.m.
What: Brooklyn dive bar The Brazen Head will host its yearly clam-themed shindig, with the motto: "have a great shuckin' time." The bar will offer littleneck clams for $5 per half-dozen, $1 Blue Point oysters, an assortment of chowders, and $5 pints of Long Island beers.
2) New Amsterdam Market
When: Sunday, 11a.m. – 4p.m.
Where: South Street Seaport, 100 Peck Slip, New York, NY
What: The market held in the old Fulton Fish Market space opens for the 2012 season this Sunday. There will be a special bread baking pavilion, featuring 15 local bakers, who will each make their own special loaf of bread using flour made with locally-grown grains. Along with the bread comes a list of vendors selling cheeses, meats, fish, wine, and more. Visit the site for details.
3) The Total Bedford Hill Immersion
When: Saturday, noon–6p.m.
Where: Start at one of three pick up points, Black Swan, Speedy Romeo, and Maggie Brown
What: Brooklyn Based and Brooklyn Brewery kick off the immersion series with the first neighborhood crawl of 2012. Snag one of 500 postcards being handed out in order to drink, shop, and brunch in the borderland of Clinton Hill and Bed-Stuy, lovingly referred to as "Bedford Hill." There will also be $3 Brooklyn Brewery pints at Brooklyn Tap House, from 4 p.m. till the kegs run dry. Check the site for details.
4) Loreley Manhattan's 9th Annual Sausage Fest
When: Saturday, 3 p.m.
Where: 7 Rivington Street, New York, NY
What: To mark the opening of beer garden season, Loreley's Lower East Side location will throw this Tanz in Den Mai (Dance in to May) party with 12 local sausage selections like kolbase and andouille and free beers from the first keg of the day. Five different sausage platters will also be available, for $16–38. The festival runs through Thursday, May 3.
5) Brooklyn Wort at Public Assembly
When: Saturday, two tastings at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Where: 70 North 6th Street, Williamsburg, NY
What: 125 beers made by homebrewers across the borough of Brooklyn were tasted, and the 25 best were chosen to be voted on by the public at this suds-centric event. For $35, sample all 25 of the beers, score a plate of NC-style barbeque from Fat Beagle, and vote for your favorite people's choice selection. The winner goes home with $1,000.
