Sam Talbot Peaces Out of The Surf Lodge in Montauk

New, 10 comments

Sam Talbot just couldn't handle all the stress out in Montauk, so he's headed down to the Caribbean, where things are a little less loco. Grub Street learns that the chef, who bounced out of the goose-egged Imperial No. 9 not too long ago, has announced his departure from The Surf Lodge. He explains:

I've really loved my time at the Surf Lodge, so stepping away is bittersweet ... but I'm leaving to pursue a couple of year-round projects that stay true to who I am, and which I can call my own.
Those year-round project might involve restaurants, or they might involve soulful English folk rock, yoga, or aromatherapy. Anyone's guess at this point. But, the move might have something to do with management problems at the resort and restaurant.
