1) Eataly Earth Day
Where: 200 5th Avenue, New York, NY
When: Sunday, noon–6 p.m.
What: Eataly will celebrate Earth Day by hosting 28 producers and purveyors who will give out samples such as cheese, cured meats, and seafood. Also, La Birreria, will be pouring a special Earth Day beer: a saison using Chinook hops grown by Climbing Vines Hop Farm in Seneca Lake, NY.
2) National Poetry Month Party at Back Forty
Where: Back Forty, 190 Avenue B
When: Saturday, 3:30–5:30p.m.
What: The original location of Back Forty will host a Poetry & Cocktails event with the Academy of American Poets and poet Bob Holman. The event will feature hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails inspired by poems. Check out more info here.
3) Malbec World Day at City Winery
Where: City Winery, 155 Varick Street
When: Sunday, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
What: City Winery is teaming up with American Airlines to honor Malbec World Day, a celebration created by the group Wines of Argentina. Taste more than 60 different pours ranging from small artisanal producers to larger, more well known names. There will also be Argentinian food to compliment the wine, all included in the $28 cost.
4) Make a Salad
When: Sunday, 10 a.m.
Where: The High Line, 529 West 20th Street
What: Artist Alison Knowles will chop, slice, and toss together ingredients to create a massive salad, as she recreates the original Make a Salad performance from 1962. Audience members can take a hands-on approach, digging into the greens at 12:15 p.m.
Where:27 N. 6th St, Williamsburg
When: Saturday, 9 AM - 5 PM
What: The Brooklyn Flea's all-food counterpart has returned for the summer, featuring over 100 vendors including Asia Dog, The Meat Hook, Landhaus, Porchetta, and Shorty Tang's Cold Sesame Noodles.
