Daniel Boulud Sues Owners of Buffalo Bar 'DBGB'

New, 6 comments

If you were driving through Buffalo recently and thought you saw a secret branch of Daniel Boulud's DBGB, you were dead wrong: that's actually Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar, or DBGB for short.

The Daily News reports that Daniel Boulud is suing the owners of the tavern for trademark infringement. Boulud's people apparently sent the owners a cease and desist letter in 2010, right after the Buffalo restaurant opened. The owners initially agreed to change the name, but never actually made the switch. A note on the bar's site reads: "Please be advised that Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar has no affiliation with DBGB Kitchen & Bar located at 299 Bowery St. in NY, NY."

But if you do find yourself in Buffalo, consider hitting up Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar on Friday afternoon, when they have a free happy hour buffet.
