News broke back in November that Andrew Tarlow, the owner of Marlow & Sons and Diner in Williamsburg and Roman's out in Fort Greene, was opening a restaurant within the Wythe Hotel, a new boutique property from the Dumbo kingpins Two Trees Management. And according to the hotel's website, the restaurant has a name, Reynards, and a May opening date. Per the site, the focus will be "whole-animal, wood-fired cooking" and the menu will change daily and will "center around the produce of our farmers throughout the seasons."
And that's not all. It looks like another Williamsburg darling is joining the mix. The hotel recently retweeted the following: "the Marlow Mafia & Blue Bottle are opening in the new Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg May 1st. Exciting but they are always working!" Reps for the hotel and Blue Bottle have not confirmed, but the Berry Street location of the west coast coffee roaster has done well since its debut in 2010, and recent expansions to Chelsea, the High Line, and (eventually) Rock Center show the company is in an expansion tear. Plus it works so well with Stumptown at the Ace Hotel, and it would just complement the hipster ethos of the place so nicely.
Also: the hotel also features a terrace bar and a private underground dining room serving a version of the restaurant's menu. Stay tuned for more info on Reynards and hopefully Blue Bottle as the May debut approaches.
