Del Posto Hikes Price on Best Lunch Deal in Town

One of the best deals in town is no more. The Price Hike/Bloomberg's Ryan Sutton reports that Del Posto's three-course lunch—raved over here, here, here, and here— has gone up from $29 to $39. GM Jeff Katz explains to Sutton that lunch was "too inexpensive in the first place" and that it's the "dinner experience at a much lower price point." For comparison's sake, lunch at Eleven Madison Park is $74 for four courses, Le Bernardin offers menus $70 and $190, and the two-course lunch at Jean Georges, always considered a deal, is $38. So he has a point.

In other news, the restaurant is also serving the full menu at the bar, a la carte or prix fixe, for the first time ever.
