Before his white-hot restaurant Red Farm opened, Chinese food guru Ed Schoenfeld talked about growing the concept to include several locations and an ambitious delivery program. Now it seems that Schoenfeld and partners Joe Ng and Jeffrey Chodorow might be taking the first steps in their expansion plans.
Gael Greene hears a rumor from a "very good source" that Schoenfeld and Co. are opening a new version of the restaurant around the West 70s that will have a big kitchen and about 70 seats as opposed to the 44 in the West Village. The word is that this new location could open as soon as September. Eater has reached out to Schoenfeld, but he has yet to confirm that the deal is a go.
