A Chance to Own a Piece Of Hiro Ballroom And Matsuri

Here's some news for fans feeling down about the pending closure of the Hiro Ballroom and Matsuri and/or anyone looking to stock their own restaurant or club with a lot of Asian decor features. The owners of the Maritime Hotel have decided to auction off everything in the two venues the first week of April. When they say everything, they mean everything, ranging from the massive handmade Japanese lanterns to the flooring. There will be three days of previews starting April 2 and the actual auction itself begins April 4 at 2 PM. Everything must be removed by April 5 so that the new owners can begin construction of the planned 400-seat Tao Downtown that is expected to open early in 2013.
