Today, reps from MoMA PS1 offer some more details on the new cafeteria project inside the museum space from Hugue Dufour and Sarah Obraitis of shuttered Quebecoise diner M. Wells. The official name for the project is M. Wells Dinette, and according to a press release, "the regal charm and academic halls of the building will serve as inspiration for the food." The menu will feature completely new Dufour creations.
Last fall, the chef said that "people will face [the] kitchen instead of the table and the dishes are served on trays with compartments," although who knows if that's still a part of the design plan. The opening of the M. Wells Dinette inside MoMA PS1 is slated for this May, and after that Dufour and Obraitis will debut their second LIC project, a steakhouse and boat factory just a few blocks away.
