In October, news broke that the Bromberg Brothers were opening a new Blue Ribbon restaurant in the old Shang space in the Thompson LES hotel, although nobody knew if it was going to be a sushi place, or a comfort food restaurant. Turns out it's going to be a little bit of both: The Robs report that this will be a new version of their sushi concept called Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya. The restaurant will serve sushi, shareable dishes, and "their signature fried chicken by the bucket." It's slated to open in April.
Elsewhere in the New York spring preview, we learn that the new Mexican restaurant in Dumbo from the Colonie team will be called Gran Electrica, and that Michael White plans to do a lot of delivery business at his forthcoming East Village pizzeria Nicoletta.
