Earlier this week, restaurateur Gabe Stulman (Joseph Leonard, Jeffrey's Grocery, Fedora), opened his newest baby, Perla, in the old Bellavitae space at 24 Minetta Lane in the Village. Stulman describes the food as "a combination of contemporary and traditional Italian." The kitchen is being helmed by Michael Toscano, who garnered a lot of acclaim as the chef at Manzo, the beef-centric restaurant inside of Eataly.
The space features a wood burning oven, a cocktail bar, a charcuterie counter, and plenty of nice, comfy red leather booths. Stulman notes that a few more details will be added to the space over the next few days, and that this is his very first restaurant with tables that seat six. Take a look around, and do send any early reports our way.
