WILLIAMSBURG — Last Fall, Williamsburg Mediterranean restaurant Santorini Grill adopted at "pay what you will" policy. Now, Gothamist reports that it has closed. The owner remarks of the experiment, "The business went down. We couldn't make up the expenses to pay the bills. Not because people abused it. They just stopped coming." [Gothamist]
AWARDS SEASON — Back in February the James Beard Foundation released its "long list" of restaurant and chef semifinalists, and this coming Monday (March 19 at 11AM PST / 2PM EST) the JBF will announce the finalists at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas.
