The battle for MPD rages on, as the Ginza Group, the mysterious Russian hospitality company that owns the MPD space and has big plans for New York, has decided to go after the self-proclaimed brunch party kings the Koch Brothers over the restaurant's trademark. If you recall, the Koch brothers walked away from their operation agreement at MPD and went on a publicity offensive, claiming that Ginza and MPD owed them $160,000 and the rights to the oh so valuable MPD trademark.
Ginza is countersuing and sent out a press release claiming that the Koch Bros and their company "demonstrated that they have little or no regard for the laws concerning public safety of their patrons" and that the Ginza Group had "no reasonable alternative but to terminate their business relations because of alleged reckless and grossly irresponsible conduct" of said Bros. All of this nastiness over the name MPD?
