Hot Spot Red Egg Raided By NYPD, Shut Down

New, 6 comments

The NYPD paid Chinese restaurant and certified hot spot Red Egg a visit last night at about 2 AM and shut the place down for the night. No word on why the cops decided to take action last night, but then again, it does not really matter. The threshold for the NYPD or FDNY is relatively low before they receive permission to close a bar down temporarily, especially if said bar is not expecting it. It also seemed to be a matter of when for Red Egg, a restaurant that never really caught on and decided to turn over its late night programming to Travis Bass, who helped make it one of the hottest places to be after dark even though that isn't what the SLA and Community Board thought they bargained for. We've reached out to Bass for comment, but have not yet heard back.
