Sources confirm that Katie O'Donnell, the former chef de cuisine at the three-starred Esca, left the restaurant just before the new year after over seven years of service. She's now working as the chef at Frankie's 570. A favorite among the food cognoscenti (Ruth Reichl is often seen eating at a corner table), O'Donnell has been the face of the kitchen, particularly since Eataly opened and more of chef David Pasternack's attention was required at the Batali mega-market. A recent visit to Frankies found crudo and a grilled branzino up in the "specials" column so expect more seafood-centric dishes to crop up once O'Donnell gets settled.
