A few months ago, nightlife man Matt Levine opened his restaurant/bar/lounge Sons of Essex in the old Mason Dixon Space. It serves "melting pot American food," and has a dining room that might best be described as "Gangs of New York meets 1920s prohibition vibe, but with a homey twist." That place must be doing pretty well, because today we learn that Levine is already about to open another bar/restaurant/lounge at 205 Chrystie Street.
DelShah Capital, the company that also owns the Sons of Essex space, recently acquired the building. The plan is to have Levine's restaurant group open a new project there later this spring, but there's still no details yet on what kind of food it will serve or what the place will look like.
